Questions:
Assalamu’alaykum warahmatullah
In order to increase and strengthen the vitality of the male body, there are relatives who use and drink traditional medicinal herbs from the ingredients of crocodile tangkur, the main content of which is made from crocodile penises. I have doubts about the halalness of the medicinal product and the ingredient, so I hereby ask the question, is it legal to use and consume the crocodile tangkur drug pak ustadz?
In addition, I also want to ask about the law of using crocodile leather for useful items, such as shoes, leather jackets and bags. For the answers and explanations given, we would like to thank you as much as possible.

Answer:
Answering the question of consuming the crocodile tangkur drug, it is first necessary to understand in advance about the meaning of the drug itself, as well as its relation to the ingredients or its content. According to experts, medicine is an ingredient or substance derived from plants, animals, minerals or certain chemicals that can be used to reduce pain, slow down the disease process and/or cure disease.
Next, the scholars argued, for sick conditions that are considered dhorurot, or emergency, there is indeed a law of exclusion, with the rule “Adh-dhoruratu tubiihul-mahdzurot”. In this case, the scholars also define, the emergency is a condition that can threaten life safety, be fatal, or endanger health. Because there is indeed a disease, but it is not an emergency, such as panu disease or simple itching.
In an emergency, if there is no halal food or medicine, then the exemption law applies. Namely, it can consume the illegitimate, but of course with the degree as well. Is like a starving man in the middle of the forest, which threatens the safety of his life. No food can be consumed except pork obtained from hunting results. Under such circumstances, he is allowed to eat pork, simply to restore his strength, so as to find other kosher food. The ability in the meantime, does not mean that he is then allowed to eat the pig to his heart’s content, such as holding a roast pig party in the forest.
From this, it can be understood that the powerful medicine in question, is not really a medicine in the sense of treating diseases. Especially for emergency conditions, which threaten life safety. But only to increase / strengthen the vitality of the body. In fact, it is more appropriate to call supplements, or supplementary foods, but use the term medicine in order to give a strong impression. In the rules of Fiqh there is a category of Haajiyat, which is a condition that is indeed very much needed. The use of crocodile tangkur is not included in this Haajiyat category. Because, there are still very many alternatives to maintain, increase and strengthen the body’s vitality, apart from consuming illicit ingredients. Because the scholars have also agreed, that crocodiles belong to animals that are illegitimately eaten.
In any case, in simple terms, we should remind and advise, in order to consume food products, supplements, including also drugs, must be those that have clear halalness. Do not do anything that grazes the risk of danger, or neko-neko, which is unclear or perceived as doubting its halal status. Because consuming the halal is a religious commandment that must be followed/ must be followed.
Furthermore, answering the second question, in the fiqhiyyah rule it is stated, all animal skins, apart from pig skins, if they have been tanned, then the law can be used. Of course, with a good and correct tanning process and method, which can eliminate the cause of the skin becoming rotten and damaged. Because, if the tanning is not good and correct, there is a possibility that the skin will become rotten. For example, because there is residual meat attached to the skin. If so, then it becomes unclean, and certainly not good to use.
